opinions (catching up)

This post was inspired by my friend Gillette's post. Catching up is...ah, catching. Heh.

In my opinion health care reform has been long overdue. I just wish it wasn't going to take four years to fully implement it. Thank you Mr President for getting the job started. There is much I could say about this, but just don't have the time and two other bloggers said it well:
Deb (who no longer writes) wrote a while back I think it's disgusting that Americans don't have universal health care, that one of the wealthiest nations on earth treats it's own people like dirt. Thank you Deb, I couldn't say it any better.
And Maria wrote, in context with one of her posts, Never apologize. Unless you are a Republican. Then, yes, you need to say you are sorry. RIGHT NOW.
Heh, that made me laugh...

In my opinion spending a weekend at your first art fair is a good thing, even if you sell nothing. I learned SO much in 48 hours, and have all kinds of ideas for the next one I'm planning to attend in July (and another two in August). The computer art and paintings are from Terry's son who showed with me. This Friday I will have my first art gallery showing, and I'm looking into showing at three other local galleries in the near future as well. Fun stuff!

In my opinion, new car smell is not overrated, and although no ring has been purchased, buying a car together in both our names is a pretty solid commitment in my book. In case you're wondering, it's a Nissan Cube, and wicked fun to drive.

And also in my opinion, moving up to an HTC Android phone is a pain in the ass after finally getting used to my old Blackberry Storm. But the BB's just go way too slow on the internet compared to the droids, so upgrade I must. It may just take me another month or so to get use to it...

And a big What The Fuck for the flowers blooming and grass growing two full months early here. I almost bought turf builder and lawn seed today, but it's still March, I just refuse to...

I'll do it in April.

And probably write another post too. See you then.

:)..Life sounds grand, John. Wonderful about the galleries. Way cool that you're getting your art out there. And BTW...amazing, took my breath away photo in your header. Wowza.

I sure hope that the health care thing ends up being good. I'm tremendously unimpressed and a bit leary of anything that the insurance companies didn't fight tooth and nail. I, a total liberal, am afraid that the bill is not a good one for the poor and borderliners. Like..for instance..I hear that
"the they" are anticipating the bill to add on at least an additional $4k to our madated by law expenses. Not happy. And..we shall see.

Sounds like life is good. I'm glad. And good look on selling the photos, you do take lovely photos.

As for the health care, fingers crossed. I had a discussion the other day with a patient who wanted to know my opinion on the health care debate in the US. I told him that I think it is everyone's responsibility to take care of each other. All of us need help at some time or another in our life and that's what universal health care does. We all help each other. That's not socialism, that's being human.

I will now get off my soap box:)

XL: It is a fun drive, we bought it a little over a week ago.

Gillette: Yes, I hope the health care works out, only time will time, another blogger wrote this: I'm sick of the political debate about the health care bill. The biggest problem is that people don't understand it. I get that. But instead of making assumptions, can we all just wait and see what we find out. I mean, Obama signed it into law Tuesday. And while I would love to believe that everyone knew what it would mean beforehand, no one ever truly does.
I think that says it well.
Glad you liked the photo, I have a short series of them I took, I'll send them to you.

Ute: I would love to buy a nice big Holden Ute, but the shipping charges would be a bit high I'm afraid... The Cube may look funny, but it has a lot of things going for it, good gas milege and interior space is two of the big ones...

Deb: You can stand on your soapbox here anytime :) Thanks for the comment, you and I think alike when it come to taking care of others.

It has been a tense month at my house regarding health reform. I am totally supportive of it and my partner (a very conservative Democrat...I call her a Republican wearing Democrat shoes) was agin' it.

So...yeah...I gave her the business about it. She keeps telling me to wait and see...this will not end well.

I beg to differ.

haha, as you seen, we are already blooming around here. Yeah, I'm waiting for that HUGE cold snap where everything dies off... Not my fault they got to planting too early.

Thank you for visiting Fusion, yanno, I do appreciate you keeping up with me...

One question, why should I have to pay for someones health care that wont work because it is easier to sit on their ass and collect benefits? How is that fair to me and my family? My husband works his ass off to pay for our shit (I am a stay at home mom and work my ass off too so I can raise my kids and not someone else) so why should he be working his ass off to pay for the lazy? No one can answer that logically unless they say we shouldn't pay for them!
