I'm sitting here in my dad's old chair in our living room with the warm sun moving across me and then the floor. I like these kind of mornings, quiet, with coffee in hand, watching the morning news, working on my photos, or like today, catching up with other bloggers. Most the time now I read blogs at work on my phone, between customers, and then will post comments later from the laptop when I get a chance. Sad though, how it seems like the blog universe is contracting.
So many have stopped blogging now...
Hmm, I think I'm starting to ramble.
I don't have that much to say here anymore, what used to be my outlet for my thoughts is now regaled to just writing about daily life now and then. Boring stuff I would think, but maybe not.
I'm busy these days with work and life. Home improvement projects once in a while. I just finished sprucing up the bathroom, amazing what a difference a couple cans of spray paint, a new wall cabinet and shower curtain can make...
On the photography front, I registered my business name as a web domain and have started working on my website, but I have a ways to go before it will be polished (go here if you want to see the work in progress). Once completed, you'll be able to buy directly from it, or order a speciality print that I can have my media company print up and ship. I'm also in the process of printing and framing my best pieces to use in art shows later this year (and for my first gallery exhibit in April), and working on my "bio" sheet and business cards as well. All of this is being funded from the rental income I receive, so that I'm not having to finance the start up costs and then have the pressure of "I have to start selling lots of photos NOW to pay for all this". I'm hoping to work with a local artist and a wildlife photographer to share booth costs at some of the pricier art shows too. It's a exciting and interesting process to go through.
I have kept toying with the thought of just shutting this blog down for a while now (I even picked out a final banner picture of a total eclipse, get it?), but I guess I'll just leave it as is for now. I may post more updates now and then, or if something really hits me I'll write about it. But for now life is very good, and I'm busy living it. Thoughts of selling my photos, making coffee table size photography books, landscaping a backyard, and buying a ring occupy my mind these days.
I'll leave it at that...
And see ya around.

Nice to hear that life it tickdety-poo for you John. Congrats on the show in April and for finding a contended life.
I have been noticing the numbers of posts declining, too, both my own and those I used to read. Cycles.
xoxooxx
The photo of the Harbour Bridge is my favorite! Sounds like you have a good plan with the online shop. Best wishes for that.
Living life is good. Enjoying living it -- what could be better? XXS
The best part of visiting is the randomness of the banner pick - I would miss that little bit of my morning.
Real life trumps blog life, but the two aren't mutually exclusive. That said i'm having a hard time rousing myself to blog much nowadays. The natural and correct tendency to censor out the personal bits leaves a person with substantially less to write about. But people like to know what normal life looks like, sans the drama. Think of the blog as a journal of these sweet days, a record for when you're old and forgetful and need a reminder...
And ya big tease, you can't leave us with talk of a ring without some serious followthrough.
When you get to a point where life is better being lived than blogged about, then that's a good place to be. But I agree with 'Anon' above, it's good to keep as a record. And no, Fuse, it's never boring - it's really good to look in, even if just occasionally, to see how you're doing. And I'm glad to see you're doing well.
I'd love you to keep it open-ended. Good luck with the shows and all your other projects, and I look forward to more news when you feel like it.
I'm hearing you. I left once and it was great, came back and it's a chore.
Glad to hear things are rolling along for you. Most excellent!
If you don't come back, good luck with all that you do.
Hi john: I'm thinking of leaving too. Not because it's hard to blog but because those around me have left or are ready to...
It's like seeing friends die one at a time. And each time it changes the world even more.
I know you have to take the road that calls to you.
Ciao my friend. xx
I'm a bit late in commenting (I'm a wee bit shy at first, but then once I start, you can't stop me!), but I can understand where you're coming from blog wise.
There seems to be a real down turn in blogging. It was all the rage a few years back, but now everyone's caught on to Fartbook or other sites, and I guess it's so much easier to write one's thoughts in a small status update...rather than write a decent blog post.
I'm sad to see so many old bloggers give up. But I guess it's bound to happens sooner or later.
Thank you for visiting my lil' blog, and appreciating the "Tuesday Ute" photos. :o)
I've struggled back and forth about shutting down, too. I know how you feel, but I have no answers. I'd rather you don't go, but that's just me. If you aren't enjoying it anymore nothing can make you keep going. But everyone will miss you if you did go.
very precious morning .. i love your blog...you wrote a very true and lovely one experience...whose touch my heart..
