half pipe dreams

The boy is into skateboarding.
I've learned alot about it this year: ollies, nollies, pop shoveits, grinding, kick flips, heel flips.
Wheels, trucks, and decks.
Zoo York, Enjoi, Plan B boards.
He turned 12 a few weeks ago, and a big part of his present was a half pipe. He asked me this spring if I could build one for him, and I said if he helped me, we'd do it together. Well, with working on my house and Terry's place, I didn't end up with much time to work on one, but we found a used one nearby that we bought and fixed up, finishing it a few days ago. It turned out pretty cool, at least according to him and his friends.

And check this out. Ryan does some crazy ass jumps, esp about 1:16 in...

That's great that he's that athletic. You're kind to help him with his sport.

I can highly recommend The Lords Of Dogtown, a movie about the origins to this aspect of boarding.

It looks like it turned out great! You guys did an awesome job!

I always wanted to learn. We have a great skate park near by. One of these days I will end up asking one of those kids to try to teach my old ass how!

I am so absolutely happy at how happy you are right now! Yes, I can feel your happiness allll the way over here in the land of corn! It just makes me smile.

Keep shining, Sugar.

Okay...sorry to sound like an old biddy, but...um...those kids need to have their helmets AND knee pads on ALL THE TIME.

My youngest skates (on boards but' he has taught me the cool wway to say it see? ) he is gonna be 15 in January and it amazes me the bravery he has to tool around on that board and do all thise tricks. Suddenly its as if I was never young or fearless!
