I have several posts I'd like to write, long thought filled ones, but no time these days to do them. My last day at WinCo was Monday, and now I'm working on the house, emptying the last of my possessions out, getting ready to paint, and just ordered the new carpet (I still had the original 12 year old carpet). On top of that, I've had doctor and dentist appointments, and moving stuff from both houses into a storage unit so we can have a garage sale after I get my old house on the market. I start my new job next Tuesday...
So for now I give you this little tidbit from my head, courtesy of the old man who was driving very slowly in the outside lane of the eastbound I-90 yesterday morning when I was trying to get to the dentist on time. I wasn't mad with him, but just thought about how I will never drive slow in my old age, because I'm just like my just like my dad and grandfather.
To illustrate: shortly after my parents purchased their new car in 2005, I asked my dad how he enjoyed driving it after he took my mom to a doctor appointment one day. He said it was great, and that he had no problem keep up with the traffic that was doing 80mph now! My dad was 87 at the time...
And my favorite story about my grandfather was how at 82 years of age he drag raced his Ford Edsel at the Orange County International Raceway. I was there and watched him. He was disqualified after winning his first two heats. The reason? He jumped the light...

All the best for starting your new job!
Ack. I hope the same isn't true for me. My mother and grand-mother had "old" attitudes before they even reached their fifties.
Also hope the new job is good.
Love the story about your father and grandpa. I always know when an oldster is driving in front of me. At least they don't usually use their cell phone :)
Have fun with the new job!
What great stories about them both. I love it when the oldies give us a run for our money!
