life is a highway...

In about 8 hours I'm leaving to head down to my mom's place. I want to be there a full day ahead of my sister's surgery (Monday the 5th) so we can all visit. I'll have to go pick her up and bring her to my moms because she can't drive now, and she's pretty frightened about the operation at this point. I will be taking her down to Scripps in San Diego on Monday, and probably play taxi driver for her son each day. I won't have internet service right away (I'll be setting up cable broadband at mom's place), so I don't know how long I'll be incommunicado, but I will be working on a couple posts that have been in my head offline.

In the words of the Governor of California:

I'll be back...

8:45 am. After thoughts: as I was getting up this morning it dawned on me the significance of this date. One year ago today I was flying to Australia, beginning my first big adventure. Two years ago today my wife had her first seizure, beginning the last four months of her life. It makes me wonder what next May 2nd will hold in store...

John,
That definitely seems like a significant date for you. Stuff like that, those emotional milestones, are huge.
